OMG just reading all this about people getting their boxes early and stuff makes me drool and go into heart palpatations XD
My bf is picking his and my CE from Best Buy, he'll open the box, give me the retail code and send it overnight or something. He lives three hours away but due to... reasons he can't just GIVE it to me XD.
I hope my retail code works with just the client >.>; I have the beta key but yeah...
I should get it Monday, sucks, but it must be done.
So wish me luck guys, I hope I'll be able to play with my retail key even if I dont' have the game yet, lol
He sent me my beta box too, gave me the key online so I could play it, got the box a day after beta started in March.
God I love him so much. He's having to shell out about 140 bucks for both of us, I didn't have to pay him for the pre-order thing, just had to for this, but thats ok!
Best Buy in the store itself better have it, or HEADS WILL ROLL!!! @_@;
I'll sue >.>;
Or something...
MREOWF!

A horrible thought...
UPS is spot-on as usual, GW should be here the 27th. Unfortunately, the address is now inhabited by my EVIL EX- WIFE!
My only chance is to contact UPS between the time it arrives at their warehouse in town and the the time it ships from said warehouse (according to the UPS people).
AAAHHHHHH!!!!

Do what I'm doing - if mine isn't here on time I go buy a copy at a retailer (59.99), then return the copy that arrives in mail (39.99) at said retailer using retailer's receipt (-59.99). Have game on time, get cost of online pre-order. Best of both worlds.

so looks like at least my local EB is sticking with the 28th date....

I ordered the "deluxe" version way back in Feb from Best Buy, called them a couple weeks ago about it, to see if I would still be getting what I paid for with the deluxe version since it is not really offered. They said yes, guess we shall see when that comes, and also they wont ship until the 28th. I am sitting here wondering why I preordered again.....I guess I didnt pay for the access to beta events..that was a free package deal...but is it worth not having the game until a couple days after the game released, then having to go to work....my work ethic is dropping..I can feel it. *sigh* I am going into withdrawls....

They know what day it is going to ship. They are the ones sending the product to the gaming companies, so there shouldn't be any reason the servers shouldn't be ready on the day the customers get the software.
Unless there was just plain bad planning and that means someone is in trouble!!

No monte... Anet and NCsoft distributed the software for the gaming companies to hold. Anet set the date to the 28th, Meaning it is not going to be open on any previous day. The stores can distribute all they like, But it won't change Anet's decision. They hold the servers.

Ok, then how does every online game that has come out had there servers ready and done before they hit the customers hand. They know when the product will be hitting the stores. There is no reason not to have the servers up and ready by then. If it isn't it is very bad planning by them.
